Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Mattress Unloader / Forklift Driver to join our warehouse team. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position responsible for unloading mattresses, box springs, adjustable bases, and other bedding products from incoming trailers and moving product throughout the warehouse.

Candidates should understand that this is primarily a manual material-handling position—not strictly a forklift position. Approximately 75% of the product will be moved by hand, while only about 25% will be moved using a forklift or other material-handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manually unload mattresses, foundations, adjustable bases, and other bedding products from trailers.
  • Move approximately 75% of incoming product by hand.
  • Use a forklift for approximately 25% of product movement.
  • Safely lift, carry, push, pull, slide, and maneuver large and heavy merchandise.
  • Stage and organize incoming products in designated warehouse locations.
  • Inspect incoming merchandise for visible damage and report issues to warehouse leadership.
  • Maintain accurate product counts while unloading and staging merchandise.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and according to company procedures.
  • Keep docks, aisles, staging areas, and workspaces clean and free of hazards.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team to unload trailers within established productivity expectations.
  • Follow all warehouse safety procedures and proper lifting techniques.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires significant physical activity throughout the entire shift.

Candidates must be able to:

  • Perform heavy lifting repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Manually handle large, bulky, and awkwardly shaped products.
  • Lift, push, pull, carry, and maneuver mattresses and other heavy bedding products safely.
  • Work on their feet for extended periods.
  • Bend, reach, twist, squat, and climb as required.
  • Work at a steady pace in an active warehouse environment.
  • Work cooperatively with another team member when handling products requiring a team lift.

Qualifications & Employment Requirements

  • Previous warehouse, unloading, material-handling, or distribution experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to become forklift certified if not currently certified.
  • Must be comfortable performing primarily manual unloading and material handling.
  • Ability to safely perform repetitive heavy lifting.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and warehouse safety procedures.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work the scheduled Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM shift.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening, which includes testing for marijuana, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, physically capable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position is best suited for someone who enjoys physical work and understands that forklift operation is only a portion of the job—the majority of each shift involves manually handling mattresses and bedding products.
