Kamatics is seeking a Production Engineer I who is responsible for developing production drawings, process designs, and continuous improvements to ensure products meet customer requirements, as well as productivity and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create complex production drawings using CAD software, with a strong emphasis on 3D solid modeling
  • Develop manufacturing sequence drawings in accordance with industry drafting and tolerance standards
  • Create and maintain work instructions to support productivity and quality requirements
  • Conduct tolerance studies to ensure manufacturability and process capability
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and shop floor teams to support production processes and improvements
  • Provide guidance and support to technicians as needed
  • Monitor and support productivity and quality performance; communicate updates to appropriate teams
  • Prepare reports and documentation as required
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Deliver a high level of service to internal and external customers and contribute to a team-oriented environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing engineering or machine shop experience
  • Experience with CAD software required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T
  • Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent computer work requiring visual and mental focus
  • Frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, and twisting
  • Frequent handling of tools and materials
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs occasionally (15–40%)
