Seabury is looking for a full time Transportation Coordinator to oversee our transportation program and assist with a variety of administrative functions. This will include but not be limited to the shuttle program, specials and activity programs. Â Apply today!
Hours: The typical hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. However, occasional early morning, evening, or other adjusted hours may be required to support resident transportation needs and special trips.Â
Position Requirements:Â
- Education Equivalent:Â High School graduate or equivalent.
- Experience:Â 5 to 7 of professional driving experience, experience working in a community, preferably with older adults.Â
- Specific Skills and Requirements:
- Must have and maintain a valid State of Connecticut driver’s license, with PPTP/Public Service License and Passenger Endorsement.
- Must have a clean driving record and be free from significant traffic violations.
- Knowledge of basic first aid/emergency procedures.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with older adults.
- Caring and compassionate presence.
Job Duties:
- Prepare and coordinate drivers’ schedules daily for medical transportation, weekly grocery and drugstore trips, outings and special events.
- Coordinate Resident medical appointment schedules and vehicle assignments daily.
- Hire, supervise, evaluate, discipline, and terminate transportation drivers as necessary.
- Maintain vehicle logs.
- Overseeing the training of all new drivers.
- Maintain adequate number of drivers for all activities as well as the daily schedule.
- Input and prepare all transportation related reports.Â
- Transport residents to various designated locations safely and on time.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and efficient operation, checks gas, oil, tires, etc. weekly.
- Handles vehicle maintenance in collaboration with the Director of Engagement.
- Calculates all monthly billing for Resident transportation.
- Assists in carrying out other relevant duties related to Resident Engagement as time provides.
- Communicates on a regular basis with the Director of Resident Engagement on all operations relating to transportation needs and concerns.
- Coordinates vehicle inspections, emissions, and mandated safety codes under supervision of the Director of Resident Engagement.
- Participates in mandatory drug/alcohol testing as required by Connecticut state law.
- Conveys professional and caring image.
- Abides by residents’ rights.
