Title: Manufacturing Electrician
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Electrician / Electronic Technician installs and repairs electrical/electronic systems, equipment, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Install electrical wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment per NEC standards.
- Install, modify and trouble shoot machine controls.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment such as machinery, ovens, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken components.
- Has strong troubleshooting skills.
- Install, modify and trouble shoot PID temperature controls and power systems.
- Carries out such other general duties as may be delegated by the Facilities Manager or team leader.
- Replaces faulty electrical components on equipment, such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices.
- Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards Plans layout wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical components within the facility.
- Install data and security wiring.
- Purchase electrical materials and components to use to repair machinery and equipment.
- Installation of all types of electrical circuits.
- Single and three phase motor control systems.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Organizational, computer, and mechanical skills
- Interpret and understand schematics and manuals for various equipment.
- Trouble shoot and repair equipment when schematics, manuals or technical support is not available.
- Communicate with factory personnel, supervisors, and managers of departments as necessary to carry out essential functions.
- Work in a team environment.
- Work unsupervised.
- Learn new skills and technology.
Experience & Education Requirements:
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent
- State of Connecticut E2 Electrical License
- Three (3) years of demonstrated responsible experience in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
