Description
The Vice President of PMO is a strategic executive responsible for establishing, leading, and scaling a enterprise Project Management Office across VMC Group. This role ensures disciplined execution of strategic initiatives, capital projects, product launches, operational improvements, and ERP-driven transformation efforts across all business units. The VP of PMO will serve as the central governance leader for enterprise project prioritization, execution standards, resource allocation, and benefits realization ensuring all initiatives are aligned to corporate objectives, operational capacity, and financial targets. This role is critical in driving transformation across manufacturing operations, supply chain modernization, and digital ERP enablement (Epicor/Kinetic environment).
Responsibilities Not Limited To:
PMO Leadership & Governance
- Establish and lead an enterprise PMO framework, including methodology, governance standards, and reporting structureÂ
- Define project prioritization criteria aligned with corporate strategy and operational capacityÂ
- Create standardized tools, templates, and stage-gate processes for all capital and operational projectsÂ
- Oversee enterprise project portfolio management and executive reporting cadenceÂ
Strategic Program Execution
- Lead cross-functional execution of strategic initiatives across operations, engineering, supply chain, and ITÂ
- Drive execution of large-scale transformation programs including ERP optimization and process standardizationÂ
- Ensure successful delivery of capital expansion, facility upgrades, and manufacturing modernization projectsÂ
- Coordinate interdependencies across multiple concurrent programs and sitesÂ
Manufacturing & Operational Alignment
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain leadership to ensure project alignment with production capacity and demandÂ
- Support plant-level execution of improvement initiatives and capital projectsÂ
- Ensure PMO integrates with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement effortsÂ
- Align project execution with operational KPIs such as throughput, cost, and delivery performanceÂ
ERP & Digital Transformation
- Oversee project governance for ERP initiatives including system enhancements, upgrades, and integrationsÂ
- Partner with IT and operations teams to ensure successful adoption of Epicor KineticÂ
- Ensure data integrity, process standardization, and system-driven accountability across projectsÂ
- Lead digital transformation roadmap execution across manufacturing and back-office systemsÂ
Financial & Portfolio Management
- Manage enterprise project portfolio budget, including capital and operational expendituresÂ
- Track and report project ROI, benefits realization, and financial performanceÂ
- Partner with Finance to ensure capital requests are aligned with strategic prioritiesÂ
- Optimize resource allocation across competing initiativesÂ
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing PMO team including program managers and project leadersÂ
- Develop project management standards and training programs across the organizationÂ
- Foster a culture of accountability, execution discipline, and transparencyÂ
- Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on project feasibility and execution risk
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field (MBA preferred)Â
- 12+ years of progressive experience in program/project management leadershipÂ
- 5+ years in PMO Â leadership or enterprise program governance roleÂ
- Experience in  manufacturing, engineered products, or industrial operations strongly preferredÂ
- Proven success leading large-scale transformation or multi-site capital programsÂ
- Strong ERP implementation or optimization experience (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, etc.)Â
- Deep understanding of project management methodologies (PMI, Agile, hybrid models)Â
