Facilities Technician
Job Description
What the Job Involves
As a Facilities Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional client-focused service by ensuring optimal facility operations and safety compliance. You will support operation, inspection, and maintenance processes for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems, maintaining the highest standards required in a pharmaceutical environment. Your work directly impacts our client's mission-critical operations by performing inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, and equipment, while ensuring regulatory compliance and minimizing disruption to facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations:
- Perform PM (preventative maintenance), renovation, and replacement of various components in the physical structure of the buildings
- Repair, maintain, and install building mechanisms, including heating and cooling systems, motors, doors, furniture, and controllers
- Maintain and complete documentation for fire extinguishers, safety showers, eye wash stations, and other building systems
- Maintain and input plumbing components including sinks, urinals, toilets, flush valves, tub valves, water heaters, sump and pump pumps
- Replace electrical components including switches, plugs, fixtures, ballasts, and fuses in assigned areas
- Perform building systems work including carpentry, painting, wall repair, roofing, tile setting, masonry, and concrete work
- Complete special tasks that include but are not limited to painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, and general maintenance as assigned
- Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested
- Understand work order management systems to create and update work orders requesting operation support occupancy and operations
- Recommend changes and system upgrades to optimize performance
- Survey with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas
- Recognize design and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them
- Review and perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks at scheduled intervals
- Work with operating staff on minor day-to-day maintenance issues including building diagrams
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Order materials as necessary or as assigned
- Perform general maintenance and repairs
- Ensure a high standard of cleanliness in assigned areas (to be used when needed)
- Complete project work as required and assigned
- Performs other related work as required and assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in general building repair, maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical
- Physical capability to operate tools, lift tools, equipment and supplies weighing 50 pounds or more
- Basic computer skills
Other Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and operational documents
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Must possess a valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an appropriate technical training program
- Certification for necessary certificate programs (forklift, scissor lift, aerial lifts, etc.)
- Trade certification or license
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
- Experience with facilities compliance and safety requirements
- General knowledge skills for documentation and reporting
Work Schedule
Weekend Day Shift
