Where is the work:

Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

 

 

This is a strategic leadership position that will manage Thermo King Transport Refrigeration SBU logistics by working closely with the SBU Supply Chain Leadership team, other SBU Leaders, and the Enterprise Logistics Team.  This position must identify and engage with internal stakeholders (operations, logistics, finance, field teams) to deep-dive logistics spend across plants and sales regions in order to ensure total SBU logistics costs are in line with annual financial plans.  Direct ownership of this position includes 1) collaborate with the Enterprise Logistics Team to develop, mature, and execute SBU logistics strategy,  2) delivering logistics productivity through price, quality, value analysis (VA) or continuous improvement projects, 3) coaching and supporting manufacturing plants in problem solving gaps in either logistics spend or execution of logistics strategy.  This position is also a key liaison between SBU and Enterprise Logistics Team and Finance team.  

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the SBU Supply Chain leaders to ensure all SBU logistics initiatives and strategies are successful
  • Thorough understanding and management of all global freight spend, both inbound / outbound , compliance, and import.
  • Creating linkage between carrier invoices, Enterprise Logistics data analytics, and SBU actual logistics spend
  • Responsible for reporting, mitigating, and recovery of logistics inflation
  • Identifies and engages with internal stakeholders (Plant Managers, Material Managers, Sales, Customer Service) to capture logistics requirements and ensure logistics capabilities exist to address requirements
  • Work collaboratively with Enterprise Logistics team to ensure correct SBU Logistics Strategy alignment, ensure logistics provider on-time delivery and quality, and be voice of customer back into Enterprise Logistics team
  • Accountable for working with Plant teams to develop and execute logistics productivity and continuous improvement projects
  • Responsible for SBU continuity of logistics  - engage with plants to efficiently resolve escalated issues and formally manage and secure provider capacity
  • Lead plant and SBU initiatives in creation, maturation and deployment of Logistics Standard Work elements defined through Enterprise Logistics & Freight subcommittee.
  • Provide coaching to plants on identifying and resolving issues/gaps in standard work
  • Other duties, as directed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain Logistics, Engineering or related field
  • 5 to 7 years logistics experience required
  • Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of freight payment, spend analytics, financial reporting, and depth in financial acumen
  • Demonstrates ability to think, communicate and act at the strategic level
  • Ability to drill down into data and understand linkages between different data sets
  • Requires understanding of SBU transportation requirements and solutions, including network distribution within a region
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience coordinating, facilitating discussions, consultation and conflict resolution skills
  • Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
