The PRN Therapist will have the opportunity to work at both the IU Health Bloomington Cancer Radiation Center (2620 Cota Drive, Bloomington, IN 47403) and the IU Health Bedford Cancer Radiation Center (9149 SR‑37 S, Bedford, IN 47421). The hours of operation are Monday–Friday, 8–4:30pm, with very limited weekend requirements.

This role involves working in a collaborative clinical environment alongside another Therapist. Both locations feature TrueBeam equipment. Bedford also offers brachytherapy, while Bloomington includes CT equipment for treatment planning. This position provides a great opportunity to expand skills and gain experience across both sites.

Responsible for applying ionizing radiation to patients for therapeutic purposes in accordance with the prescription and instruction of a radiation oncologist. Controls the exact amount of radiation to be administered locally, and reproduces treatment fields, insuring that exposure is made only to prescribed areas. Requires high levels of quality control, safety, treatment planning and administration, patient care, and patient scheduling. May be asked to mentor those with less experience and/or students during clinical rotations.

•  Registered RT (T) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Registry eligibility required. For Registry eligible candidates, candidate must pass exam within three months of hire date Registered RT (T) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Registry eligibility required. For Registry eligible candidates, candidate must pass exam within three months of hire date. RT (T) license as issued and required by the Indiana State Department of Health is required. High School Diploma/GED required.
• Requires current BLS certification.
• Requires certification and ongoing registration in Radiation Therapy/American Registry of Radiological Technologists (A.R.R.T.). CPR certification, and Indiana State Department of Health license as a Radiation Therapist.
• Requires extensive knowledge of the technical aspects of radiation oncology; which includes the operation of various complex equipment; application mathematical computation for treatment planning and design production; and implementation of beam altering devices.
