Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Overtime as needed

Custom Filters Direct is a rapidly growing manufacturer of custom HVAC air filters, and we're looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our 1st Shift Manufacturing Operations during an exciting period of company growth and automation.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily production operations, developing supervisors and employees, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and with the highest level of quality.

The ideal candidate is a strong manufacturing leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys coaching teams, and has a proven track record of improving productivity, reducing waste, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all first shift production operations to ensure daily production, quality, and safety goals are consistently achieved.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop production supervisors, team leads, and hourly manufacturing employees.
  • Plan and coordinate staffing, workflow, and production schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, labor efficiency, scrap, downtime, quality, and on-time production.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve throughput and operational performance.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, and Inventory teams to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and quality standards.
  • Conduct daily production meetings and communicate priorities, expectations, and performance goals.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, employee development, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Support new equipment installations, process improvements, and manufacturing expansion projects.
  • Promote a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment while maintaining high employee engagement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, Plant Manager, or similar leadership role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, production planning, workflow optimization, and labor management.
  • Experience leading supervisors and large production teams.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, and KPI management.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and manufacturing ERP or production systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred but not required. Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment and production processes.
  • Knowledge of OEE, Kaizen, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, and other Lean methodologies.
  • Experience managing multiple production departments within a manufacturing facility.
  • Demonstrated success improving productivity, safety, quality, and employee performance.
