THE ROLE

Chetola Resort is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our Maintenance & Engineering team. This individual will play a key role in preserving the beauty, safety, and craftsmanship of our historic property through expert woodworking, repair, and renovation work. The ideal candidate takes pride in their trade, demonstrates a high standard of workmanship, and thrives in a collaborative hospitality environment where every project contributes to the guest experience.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

Carpentry & Maintenance Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of carpentry work, including framing, finishing, cabinetry, trim, and wood repair across the Lodge, condominiums, and resort facilities.
  • Build, install, and repair doors, windows, molding, furniture, and fixtures
  • Maintain exterior structures such as decks, railings, and siding to ensure safety and aesthetic appeal
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and timely repairs on woodwork and structural elements
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Engineers and Housekeeping to address guest and operational repair needs
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and compliance with resort specifications
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and proper care of tools and materials

Team & Project Support

  • Work independently, while staying in close communication with team leads
  • Provide hands-on support for special projects, including seasonal dĂ©cor, resort upgrades, and event installations
  • Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and other departments
  • Uphold safety and cleanliness standards in all work environments
  • Offer assistance across departments when urgent maintenance needs arise

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter, Finish Carpenter, or in a related skilled trade
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Basic understanding of building codes and safety regulations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically active environment
  • Availability to work occasional weekends or holidays as business needs require
  • Valid driver’s license required
