Summary:

SKF Aerospace is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to support the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and compliant data solutions. This role will focus on enabling enterprise data capabilities while ensuring adherence to and other export control regulatory requirements.

The Data Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders across business functions and geographies to translate data requirements into robust technical solutions, leveraging Snowflake, ETL/ELT tools, and Power BI. This position plays a key role in strengthening SKF’s data-driven culture and global collaboration.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Data Engineering & Platform Development

  • Design and build scalable data architectures and pipelines using Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms
  • Develop efficient and structured data models to support analytics and enterprise reporting
  • Build and optimize data warehouses and data marts for business consumption
  • Ensure high data availability, performance, and reliability across data platforms

 

Data Integration & Transformation:

  • Integrate data from ERP, manufacturing, and supply chain systems into centralized platforms
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Standardize and harmonize data across multiple global sources

 

Analytics Enablement:

  • Enable business reporting and insights through integration with Power BI
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to deliver curated datasets and semantic layers
  • Support data visualization and reporting frameworks aligned with business needs

 

ITAR Compliance & Data Governance:

  • ITAR Compliance required, US Citizenship necessary
  • Ensure all data handling complies with ITAR and export control regulations
  • Implement governance frameworks including data security, access control, and auditing
  • Work with compliance and security teams to safeguard sensitive aerospace data

 

Stakeholder & Global Collaboration

  • Engage stakeholders to gather and translate data requirements
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to align on data standards and delivery
  • Act as a bridge between business and technical teams

 

Operational Excellence

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and performance
  • Maintain and enhance existing data platforms for scalability and reliability
  • Support Agile delivery and continuous improvement initiatives

 

Key Success Metrics

  • Data quality, accuracy, and consistency across platforms
  • Performance and scalability of data pipelines
  • Compliance with ITAR and governance policies
  • Adoption of data solutions across business units
  • Effectiveness of stakeholder collaboration

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 0–5 years of experience in data engineering
  • Strong experience with Snowflake and cloud platforms
  • Advanced SQL and data modeling skills
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica, AWS Glue)
  • Exposure to Power BI

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as XA or SAP
  • Experience in aerospace or manufacturing domain
  • Experience working with global teams
  • Agile exposure
