The Staff Pad has partnered with Blue Ridge Medical Center in Blue Ridge, Georgia. We are seeking a ROI Specialist - Medical Records. The Release of Information (ROI) Specialist is responsible for processing and fulfilling requests for medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely disclosure of patient information to authorized parties, including patients, healthcare providers, attorneys, and insurance companies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and respond to medical records requests via phone, fax, email, mail, and in person.
  • Verify authorization and identity for release of information, ensuring compliance with privacy laws.
  • Interact professionally with patients, legal offices, insurance representatives, and other requestors.
  • Accurately retrieve and process medical records from the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Maintain logs and documentation of all requests and disclosures.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and clinical staff as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of all patient information at all times.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;  medical records training preferred.
  • Prior experience in Health Information Management or medical records strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems. QuickBooks and Excel
