The Staff Pad has partnered with Blue Ridge Medical Center in Blue Ridge, Georgia. We are seeking a ROI Specialist - Medical Records. The Release of Information (ROI) Specialist is responsible for processing and fulfilling requests for medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely disclosure of patient information to authorized parties, including patients, healthcare providers, attorneys, and insurance companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and respond to medical records requests via phone, fax, email, mail, and in person.
Verify authorization and identity for release of information, ensuring compliance with privacy laws.
Interact professionally with patients, legal offices, insurance representatives, and other requestors.
Accurately retrieve and process medical records from the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Maintain logs and documentation of all requests and disclosures.
Coordinate with internal departments and clinical staff as needed.
Ensure confidentiality and security of all patient information at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; medical records training preferred.
Prior experience in Health Information Management or medical records strongly preferred.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems. QuickBooks and Excel
