Safety Management Group seeks a local EHS Analyst – General Industry – Blue Springs, MS.


The key function of an EHS Analyst is to put Safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will be working in a manufacturing/General Industry setting.


Shift: 8am - 5pm. At times, may need to stay over on 2nd shift to oversee safety.


Overview of Job Responsibilities:

  • Site safety observations, including documentation of findings
  • Oversee production floor staff
  • Audit Safety and Environmental management systems
  • Create PowerPoint presentations
  • Facilitates corrective measures
  • Conduct weekly training consisting of but not limited to orientation, lockout tagout, fall protection, and job hazard analysis preparation
  • Provide safety leadership for employees
  • Conduct formal safety observations and coach contractors on observation accuracy
  • Review contractor JHA’s to confirm completeness and accuracy of work being performed
  • Lead, support, and participate in key safety initiatives
  • Promote the client's core values: Motivate, Collaborate, Appreciate, Innovate, Relate
  • Work in tandem with another Safety team member

Requirements


  • Three plus years of General Industry safety experience
  • OSHA 30hr - GI preferred
  • A degree in Safety or a related field is preferred
  • Hazard Risk Assessment experience
  • Experience conducting safety trainings - forklift, storage, etc.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Must be able to perform independently with minimum direct supervision
  • Professional certification preferred (CSP, ASP, CHST, CIH, etc.)

Physical Demands of the job may include:

  • Moving about long distances
  • Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
  • Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
  • Working in extreme weather
  • Being exposed to loud noises
  • Wearing personal protective gear correctly
