Job DetailsJob Location: Pinecrest - Huntington, WV 25705Salary Range: $15.63 HourlyQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Cooks food stuffs in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served. 2. Prepares, packs, and ensures delivery of lunch to off site programs per contract guidelines. 3. Prepares and serves meals to residential clients. 4. Completes appropriate documentation for Child Adult Day Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines and training. 5. Reads menu to estimate food requirements for residential clients and off site programs. 6. Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe, using variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blenders, mixers, grinders and or/ slicers. 7. Adds seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking, according to personal judgment and experience. 8. Observes and tests foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing with fork to determine that it is cooked. 9. May prepare and cook separate individual meals for residential clients and/or off site clients requiring special diets due to religion and/or medical needs. 10. Washes dishes, cleans and maintains work areas, equipment (broken down and cleaned and put back together) and utensils. 11. Sweeps and mops floors per Health department standards 12. Removes and disposes of garbage per program guidelines. Job Specifications: 1. Education, Certification/License, and/or Experience a. High School Diploma or GED required b. Attain/maintain certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and CPR/FA during employment. Must have active food handlers card/training or be eligible. c. Knowledge of Child Adult Day Care Food Program (CACFP) helpful but not required (will train). 2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions such as menus, recipes, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
