We are seeking a Mid-Level UX/CX Specialist to support FEMA’s user experience and service delivery efforts across cloud-hosted applications and digital services. This role focuses on user research, UX artifacts, and interaction design aligned with Section 508 and federal digital service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct user interviews, usability testing, and journey mapping.
  • Develop wireframes, personas, and service blueprints.
  • Support design of intuitive, accessible interfaces following FEMA and DHS standards.
  • Collaborate with developers, PMs, and business analysts to translate research into actionable requirements.
  • Ensure 508 compliance and accessibility best practices.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with UX/UI tools (Figma, Adobe XD).
  • Understanding of user research methods and human-centered design.
  • Familiarity with CISA, DHS, and federal digital service guidelines.

 

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
  • Agile or UX certification preferred.


Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust. Active Public Trust is preferred. FEMA Public Trust is highly preferred.
