Job Summary:
The Beverage Director will lead the beverage program for all club and operations departments that sell both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, developing wine lists, assisting with cocktail menu design, beer lists, coffee and tea program, inventory processes, pricing and cost controls, and the selection and purchasing of products for all related departments.Â
Staff training and educational responsibilities  will include, but are not limited to, analyses of bar and service staff hospitality and service levels, cocktail execution, and spirit/beer knowledge, along with standard technique and best practices in accordance with a top-tier cocktail program with an eye toward acknowledgment on a national scale. Support the development of related department management wine training to achieve at least level one Sommelier status.Â
Shift support duties (in conjunction with floor managers) may include but not limited to oversight/leadership of the Bottle Shop, all front-of-house F&B staff, close monitoring of member experience (touching tables & interacting with members), speed & consistency of service & hospitality standards, monitoring the quality and of regular offerings & menus, troubleshooting equipment, closely monitoring volume, member and staff safety.
Work with the Executive Chef and department managers to establish a cohesive and superior beverage program throughout the property.

Essential Job Functions:
- Work closely with department managers to maintain beverage cost control within established budgets.Â
- Attend staff, Food & Beverage meetings, and any other meetings regarding F&B business
- Assists in maintaining expenses and weekly inventories in relationship to revenues and business demands.
- Work closely with related departments to ensure open and timely communication
- Participate in supporting P.O.S. maintenance to update pricing, discounts and other as required..
- Assist department managers with wine, beer, and liquor orders to maintain established pars as well as event requirements.
- Establish strong knowledge of related menu items, preparation, and service requirements for designated areas, and assigned functions.
- Participate  in line-up meetings with related departments to continually elevate staff knowledge in all areas of beverage knowledge and serviceÂ
- Responsible for complete knowledge of local alcohol; Â regulations and actively support staff training to support compliance.
- Assist staff with their job functions, including but not limited to replenishing liquor, taking orders, making drinks, and any special requests by members.
- Complete knowledge of contracted products and services to ensure correct billing.
- Elevate positive guest and interdepartmental relations.
- Be familiar with all club services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to member inquiries accurately.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
- Ensure staff maintains service supplies and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
- Support department leaders to ensure all beverage product is properly secured in storage areas.Â
- Work cohesively with all associates to enhance the team dynamic and esprit de corps.
- Protect and guard against abuse of company and member' property
- Keep Management informed of any accidents or problems involving guests or employeesÂ
- Perform special projects or assignments based on member's needs or market demandsÂ
- Ensures all service staff are educated and trained in proper alcohol service procedures and intoxication prevention.
- Inspect bar and function areas for cleanliness, safety hazards, and correct setup.
Qualifications:Â
- Entrepreneurial Spirit- Creatively seeking new opportunities to enhance the beverage program.
- 3 years of beverage service experience as a sommelier, wine steward, or wine manager
- 5 years of restaurant management experience
- Experience in purchasing liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic products.
- Strong knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, their origin, taste, ingredients, and service
- Knowledge of the local beverage market, its offerings, limits, and beverage-related laws
- Ability to be present at work on assigned schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when required
- Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Tips Certification, Food handling certificate, or ability to get each certificate
Relevant Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
- Excellent food and beverage knowledge, specifically wine, spirits, and other beverages
- Strong Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong Understanding of POS and inventory systems
- Desire and ability to teach and foster growth.

Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 30 lbs.Â
