Responsibilities
At the Caylor-Nickel Fdn. Family YMCA , we take pride in providing a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment that supports healthy living for all. Join our team and help us care for the spaces where lives are changed every day. Other responsibilities include:Â
- Lead: Oversee daily and long-term maintenance of facility, equipment, and grounds, ensuring functionality and safety.
- Â Develop: Create and implement preventative maintenance schedules and improvement plans that align with facility needs and YMCA standards.
- Support: Maintain necessary records, inventory, and supplies for smooth facility operations.Â
- Serve: Ensure that all YMCA safety procedures and program standards are followed and that any issues are reported promptly.
RequirementsÂ
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.Â
- High school diploma or equivalent required.Â
- Â At least 3 years of facility maintenance experience or a related field required.Â
- This position requires the ability to read and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product labels.Â
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas is preferred.Â
- Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.Â
- Excellent human relation skills and enthusiasm.Â
- Basic math skills and demonstrated recordkeeping proficiency.Â
- An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively.Â
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.Â
- Successfully complete within 60 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/O2 Certification, Bloodborne Pathogen training, Child Abuse Prevention training, and all other required training as specified by your supervisor.Â
- Ability to relate to, welcome and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences. Â
Salary: Non-Exempt, Full time $21.73- $23.09 per hr.
