ResponsibilitiesÂ
The Caylor Nickel Family YMCA is seeking a responsible and attentive Maintenance Assistant to join our team to assist in the maintenance, improvement, safety, and cleaning operations of grounds, properties, facilities, and vehicles.
- Support:Â Equipment repairs, hanging/removing signage, snow removal, weed killing, preventive maintenance tasks (grease bearings, replace belts, clean parts, etc.), minor plumbing, electrical, and construction, record keeping, some clerical tasks, setup/teardown for classes/events.Â
- Serve: Have a good mechanical aptitude, a focus on safety, good communication skills, and be comfortable working independently as well as in a team.Â
- Care: Ensure a safe and secure environment both within and around the facility. Â
RequirementsÂ
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
- At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.Â
- At least 1 year of facility maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas preferred.Â
- This position requires the ability to read and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product labels.
- Reliable transportation to attend work.
- Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences. Â
Salary: Part-time $13.50-$14.00 hourly
Hours Available: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:00am- 2:00pmÂ
