Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Technical Services Metallurgical Lab Technician includes, but is not limited to the following: 

  • Praticipating in safety and housekeeping efforts
  • Ensure a safe work environment for themselves and their coworkers
  • Operatre and maintain laboratory equipment, such as Tensile Test Frames, Hardness Test Equipment, Profilometer, Mouting/Polishing Equipment, Micrometers, etc.
  • Accurately and legibly, complete required paperwork of test results
  • Accurately input data into NSAR business system
  • Communication closley with Metallurgy Team
  • This position will be rotation shifts on days

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in steel industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the steelmaking process
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in quality control in an industrial setting
  • Experience with chemical analysis and physical testing of steel products
