Component Engineering Technician in Blythewood, SC

Engineering Technician for these areas to continually improve processes.

  • Experience with Centerless Grinding changeover, operation, and troubleshooting. Assist operations with maintaining tight dimensions and micron tolerances for grinding operations.  (Centerless Grind with Siemens controls; Preferred)
  • Manage over 600 honing tools for Kadia precision honing operations to improve efficiencies, reduce monthly refurbishment costs, communicate with in-house operations and outside suppliers to resolve issues with specific tools to maintain production standards cost-effectively and reduce downtime. Reduce refurbishment costs through data analysis for each tool.
  • Detailed documentation creation capabilities ie: Work Instruction, Quality Information System documents-(Engineering Change Requests, Material Inspection Reports, Process Change Requests, and Kaizen documenting and reporting).
  • Systems upkeep, changeover assistance and improvement, preventative maintenance and collaborating with the Chemist for best practices through all Wash systems with micron filtration.
  • Perform PFMEA reviews, Safety Audits, and Layer Process Audits monthly for assigned areas.
  • Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical troubleshooting across grinding equipment and Wash systems (Siemens controls)
  • Team oriented with cross-functional department cooperation.
  • Assist with training for Technicians, Associates and Coaches.
  • Assist with changeovers with Technicians to reduce non-value-added time.
  • Lean principles experience working with and/or facilitating Kaizen Events.
  • Statistical Process Control Experience is a plus.
  • Siemens control experience is a plus.
  • Meet or exceed annual Goals established by Engineering Manager. Thorough documentation and reporting for all Goals.
  • 5: 8-hour days per week (Monday – Friday), Overtime and weekend work as needed.
