Position Summary:

This position is responsible for receiving products timely and accurately, putting away products and rotating stock as needed. Receiving intercompany transfers and putting away that product. Replenishing picking locations, and assisting with cycle counting for inventory control, picking orders, and loading trucks. Other responsibilities include always maintaining a clean and safe working environment. This position reports to the Receiving Supervisor and is based out of our Boardman, OH location.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PICKING ORDERS:

  • Assist with picking customer orders with 100% accuracy.
  • Select pick ticket from designated area (Frozen, Refrigerated or Dry Products) 
  • Record picker number/name on order
  • Scan top bar code with handheld scanner.
  • Pull all items on the order using handheld scanners and properly pack for shipping.
  • Responsible to pack all items to ensure that no damage is incurred during transit.
  • Verify that all items on the pick ticket are on the pallet.
  • Assure pallets are properly stacked and labeled.
  • In a timely manner wrap and stage order in designated area preparing it for pickup


RECEIVING OF GOODS:

  • Upon delivery from vendors or transfers, review the Bill of Ladings and paperwork from carriers and or drivers. Compare vendor’s packing slips with the company’s PO paperwork for correct case quantities and product description.
  • Review all paperwork prior to receiving product.
  • Adjust purchase orders when necessary; communicate with Director of Purchasing any changes to order for a revised purchase order to be created.
  • Enter the correct case quantity and lot codes from the PO into Great Plains through handheld scanner.
  • Adjust transfer orders when necessary; communicate with Receiving Supervisor any changes to order for a revised transfer order.
  • Enter the correct case quantity and lot codes from the transfer into Great Plains through a handheld scanner.
  • Put away and replenish freight in proper pick bin or back up location making sure to rotate the product according to the proper procedures.
  • Unload finished product from our manufacturing plant. Put away inventory making sure to rotate the product according to the proper procedures.

SHIPPING AND LOADING OF GOODS:

  • Verify and load out-going orders accurately.
  • Assure all loads are secure prior to their leaving warehouse

Inventory control associate:

  • Working with the Inventory Control assistant, in the (Frozen, Refrigerated, Dry Products to assist with cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy.


WAREHOUSE CLEANLINESS:

  • Help maintain a clean and organized warehouse.
  • Sweep and empty trash as needed


BACKUP DUTIES:

  • Backup to other warehouse personnel as needed


SAFETY:

  • Responsible to be educated and knowledgeable in safety rules and regulations and to work safely 100% of the time; manage, promote safety for all other employees in their duties


ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED


 

Requirements Necessary to Perform This Job Function: 


EQUIPMENT CERTIFICATION: (Company can assist)

  • Operate a forklift.
  • Reach Truck
  • Operate Electric and manual jacks.
  • Know and understand the company’s SQF Policies 
  • Be able to use handheld scanners

 

EDUCATION:

  • High School Graduate or G.E.D. and/or minimum of 2 years warehouse experience
  • Good common sense
  • Good reading and math skills

 

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be in good physical shape with high stamina and dexterity.
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to climb various types of ladders.
  • Good hand dexterity with both hands
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to bend and stoop easily.
  • Excellent eyesight with very good peripheral vision
  • Able to work long hours when necessary; work overtime when it is needed.
  • Able to withstand extreme warehouse and outside temperatures of cold and hot
