What You Will Do - Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and mentor Engineers and Designers for continuous improvement of engineering expertise, professional development, and career path planning .
  • Review and approve tower structural analysis and tower modification drawings performed by external vendors or local teams .
  • Generate required engineering reports, analyze the information, and make recommendations .
  • Provide reporting on the performance of the team in accordance with formats provided by management .
  • Collaborate with local Structural Engineering Managers to meet production goals for structural analysis as well as A&E drawings .
  • Provide leadership on projects and answer structure-related inquiries from the team and local markets .
  • Collaborate with the design staff in the development of modification drawings; check the accuracy of modification drawings and ensure quality standards are adhered to .
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with peers and other departments to minimize problems with workflow or changes that would impact the team and provide guidance to the team on rules and regulations on technical matters pertaining to structural engineering .
  • Support teams to complete specialized engineering assignments requiring complex calculations .
  • Ensure that tower modification and correction repairs are made timely .
  • Assist in the selection of new design and analysis tools .
  • Stay abreast of new technical methods and developments in tower engineering. Adapt them for each market considering the quality of local field vendors .
  • Promote RFPs for engineering services for all international countries, using US and local Companies .
  • Identify and spread Best Practices at local markets .

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Work with Talent Acquisition to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ a talented and diverse group of high performing team members.
  • Provide oversight and direction to team members in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members, including overseeing new team member onboarding and providing career development planning and growth opportunities.
  • Empower team members to take ownership of their job and goals. Delegate responsibilities as needed and provide routine constructive feedback on performance.
  • Create a culture that is consistent with the organization's focus on team member engagement and that aligns with the organization's mission, vision and values.
  • Lead team members using a performance management and development focused approach to assist in goal setting, two-way feedback, and performance development planning.
  • Lead team members to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.

What You Will Need - Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in communication tower design and analysis.
  • 3+ years of structural engineering experience.
  • Experience in the Telecom industry, working with Engineering.
