Summary

The ideal candidate oversees daily operations of Harborside Family Lawn, FlowRider attraction, Slide lifeguard operations, Ocean lifeguard operations, The Break teen hangout, and teen programming. The position requires monitoring these areas to ensure safety, outstanding customer service, and maintaining high operational standards. The Supervisor will lead a team of lifeguards and recreation staff, coordinate with multiple departments, manage supplies and point-of-sale systems, and actively contribute to enhancing the guest and member experience

Essential Functions

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of Harborside Family Lawn, FlowRider, slide lifeguard and ocean lifeguard services, and The Break teen hangout.
  • Ensure safety protocols and operational procedures are followed at all recreational areas.
  • Provide excellent public relations and customer service, staying informed about resort happenings to enhance guest and member experiences.
  • Maintain documentation such as schedules, inventories, pre-registration lists, legal waivers, and disciplinary records.
  • Assist in ordering supplies, maintaining par levels, and creating POs in a timely manner.
  • Lead by example as a role model for the team, ensuring high standards of conduct.
  • Contribute ideas for new programs and special projects, supporting department growth and improvement.
  • Ensure all areas of responsibility are kept clean, organized, and in good repair through regular 5-sensing and quality checks.
  • Utilize digital communication methods to coordinate tasks and updates effectively.
  • Assist with hiring, training, disciplinary actions, and evaluations of staff.
  • Help develop goals, policies, procedures, and work standards to elevate department performance.
  • Monitor the upkeep and maintenance of all recreation areas in compliance with health and safety standards.

Internal Relationships

Reports to Director of Recreation

External Relationships

Has regular contact with Recreation Department staff, including lifeguards, FlowRider, and teen program staff. Attend meetings and coordinate with other departments, including Events, Marketing, Finance, and Conference Services. Daily interaction with guests and members to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction. Work with vendors and suppliers to maintain equipment and supplies for all recreational areas.

Qualifications

  • Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certification required.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams across multiple locations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation and operational logistics.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale systems and moderate computer skills.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in the recreation or hospitality industry.
  • Experience working in a customer service-focused environment.

 

Physical Requirements
 

Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. It requires walking or standing to a significant degree, as well as reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
