Core Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist producers, anchors, and show teams with daily broadcast production tasks.
  • Attend production meetings and contribute to content planning.
  • Type, edit, format, and distribute scripts and rundowns.
  • Organize travel arrangements and accommodations for cast, crew, and production executives.
  • Create and distribute call sheets and production schedules.
  • Support on-air talent and guests, including coordinating logistics and providing necessary materials.
  • Run errands between production offices, studios, and other departments.
  • Track show timing and coordinate with the control room to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Assist with setting up and preparing pre-recorded content for live broadcasts.
  • Work with the post-production team to create shot lists, logs, and other necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with editors to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality video content.
  • Maintain organization of production assets, including scripts, footage, and rundowns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the production team.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Broadcasting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous newsroom experience (internships or production assistant roles) is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrable interest in current events, politics, and media.
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills, with sharp attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure news environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with non-linear video editing (Adobe Premiere, Avid, Final Cut) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HD camera equipment and newsroom production technology is a plus.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as news dictates.
