We are seeking a Project Electrical Engineer to join our growing MEP team in Boca Raton, FL. H2M’s Electrical Engineering team delivers safe, reliable, and forward‑thinking power and systems design that supports modern, high‑performance buildings and infrastructure. Our engineers provide practical, code‑compliant solutions tailored to each client’s technological and operational needs.
 
As a Project Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the project management and design of building power, lighting, communication, and security systems. You will work with other MEP engineers, architects, civil engineers, and environmental scientists to execute electrical engineering design work for both public and private clients. You will also coordinate the efforts of both in-house and outside teams that handle power generation, distribution, low voltage, lighting, communications, fire alarm, and security system design.

Key Responsibilities

This position will have exposure to all aspects of MEP system design and implementation, including but not limited to:

  • Manage MEP projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate MEP activities with other disciplines.
  • Develop MEP system designs, specifications, and drawings for tenant fit-outs and shell buildings, as well as various other projects that require MEP solutions.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and as-built drawings.
  • Facilitate seamless integration of various MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Assist in the architectural application of electrical engineering, including power systems, lighting design, generator design, campus electrical infrastructure, etc.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and procedures, using knowledge of building codes and regulations to create/modify designs and drawings.
  • Participate in design development
  • Creation of electrical specification packages
  • Verify that all design aspects comply with local code and apply code provisions
  • Assist in the development of project proposals and client presentations and attend client meetings
  • Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations and document
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert guidance on MEP solutions

Engineers who join our team will be expected to:

  • Uphold the highest commitment to technical excellence, performing details engineering calculations & analysis
  • Lead development of construction documents (plans and specification)
  • Meet established budget and delivery schedules
  • Coordinate execution projects with other engineering and architecture departments within the firm.
  • Preparation of construction drawings and specifications for public bid.
  • Build internal and external client relationships.

Education & Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years of related consulting and design experience, specifically in MEP and power system design and implementation.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • P.E. highly desired.
  • The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering MEP solutions, ensuring the successful execution of projects from conception to completion.
  • Proficiency in relevant MEP design software: REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong client relations and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to mentor and supervise junior level staff.

The salary range for this role is $88,000 - $130,000 annually.
