Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Specialist, Sponsored Programs - Boca Raton, FL.

Summary Of Responsibility:
- Maintain database of all sponsored research activity, including submissions and awards. Update/create reports as needed.
- Serve as Human Resource (HR) Partner for hiring of students and any other employees on grants. Advise and assist with hiring new grant personnel and annual renewals, including contract review, as needed. This essential activity requires interface with the internal computer system (Workday) and interacting with FAU HR office as needed.
- Enter tuition waivers for students on research assignments in accordance with university policy. This essential activity requires interface with the internal computer system (Banner) and interacting with FAU Tuition & Billing office as needed.
- Review and approve payroll submissions for grant-funded hourly employees ensuring compliance with effort reporting requirements
- Work with suppliers, vendors, consultants, sub-contract awardees, etc. for set up in Workday for payment of services.
- Assist faculty with various grant proposal documents, including assistance with deadlines, formatting and editing, technology requirements, and coordination with the Institutional Review Board to obtain approvals, for entry into both the FAU internal routing system (Novelution) and official submission platforms, such as ASSIST, Research.gov, and Grants.gov, for review by the Division of Research's Office of Sponsored Programs.
- Prepare grant-related transactions including requisitions, travel authorizations and reimbursements, expense reports, and supplier invoices to properly charge research awards for these activities, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and ļ¬nancial protocols.
- Stay current on federal, state and university research administration policies as they relate to ļ¬scal and personnel matters.
- Ensure research compliance in areas related to each project, including conflict of interest, IRB, IACUC, EH&S, and export control.
- Serve as a member of the Research and Scholarship Forum (RSF) and any other committees as assigned.
- Serves as backup to other team members as needed and other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.Proļ¬cient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe required.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal communication, and writing skills required.
Demonstrates attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to analyze ļ¬nancial data required.
Strong accounting, ļ¬nancial and analytical skills required.
Ability to interpret, communicate and apply ļ¬nancial, regulatory, and administrative guidelines of funding opportunity announcements required.
Valid Florida Driver's License required.
Preferred qualiļ¬cations:
Business Administration or Accounting degree specialization.
Sound knowledge of federal and NIH policies.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple assignments in a time-sensitive environment.
Experience with Workday ļ¬nancial management system.
Two years of experience in sponsored research administration.
Salary:
