Position Summary

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for performing and overseeing key accounting functions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and support the monthly and year-end close processes. This role is heavily involved in revenue recognition, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, debt and lease accounting, financial analysis, and compliance with Company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional who can operate independently, collaborate effectively across departments, and identify opportunities to improve processes and support the Company's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting.
  • Review, prepare, and record accounting transactions, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules to maintain the integrity of financial records.
  • Analyze financial results and prepare management reporting, including profitability analyses, variance explanations, and other decision-support reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, Company accounting policies, internal controls, and SOX requirements, including periodic review of expense accounts and related accounting processes.
  • Maintain accounting schedules and reporting related to revenue recognition, lease accounting, debt obligations, and other key balance sheet accounts.
  • Reconcile and analyze complex balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and assisting with audit requests.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce monthly close cycle times.
  • Collaborate with accounting team members and cross-functional departments to resolve accounting matters, support business initiatives, and improve the flow of financial information throughout the organization.
  • Participate in special projects and other initiatives as assigned to support the Company's evolving accounting and reporting needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA license preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control concepts.
  • Experience with revenue recognition, lease accounting, accrual accounting, and month-end close processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
