Description:

Provides the day-to-day supervision and coordination to the specialty area of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (CVPR). Performs duties as a working Exercise Physiologist I.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Kinesiology required. Master's degree preferred.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months of hire.
  • Clinical teaching experience preferred.
  • 2 years of experience as an Exercise Physiologist required; 5 years preferred.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Reports directly to the CVPR Regional Supervisor.

  • Leads the CVPR colleagues as a coach and mentor in alignment with organizational and departmental leadership values and expectations.

  • Develops and monitors staff scheduling and assignments; monitors and adjusts department workflow as needed.

  • Maintains basic timekeeping duties, including entering work schedules, monitoring overtime, and staffing appropriately based on work volumes.

  • Identifies and recommends staff training needs.

  • Responsible for mentoring, training, and orienting new colleagues.

  • Ensures orientation and training of new staff, including introduction to department and Medical Center protocols and procedures.

  • Demonstrates familiarity with organizational and service-line policies and guidelines.

  • Assists the program supervisor/manager with program compliance, quality initiatives, benchmarking, and performance improvement.

  • Works with the supervisor to evaluate current practices, improve programs, and develop new procedures to enhance patient care.

  • Assists the supervisor with program certification through AACVPR, including re-certification, annual reporting, quarterly continuing education, and monthly staff meetings.

  • Responsible for monitoring adherence to organizational and national regulatory guidelines for the rehab program.

  • Provides day-to-day leadership and oversight of the assigned department.

  • In conjunction with the supervisor and manager, selects, develops, coaches, mentors, and assesses staff performance.

  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies and partnering with the supervisor/manager on budget planning and revenue reconciliation.

  • Works with the supervisor to coordinate with universities to develop and schedule student internships.
