Your Key Responsibilities

The role of a Structural Designer is to work independently on smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger projects under the guidance of a senior engineer. As a Structural EIT you will be able to perform structural analysis, design and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems. Additional responsibilities include:

Perform structural calculations and analysis of buildings and other structures.
Assist in preparing deliverable documents including drawings, specifications, and reports.
Works with and coordinates with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines.
Assist Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders.
Participate in project meetings; communicate design issues and solutions with the design team.
Develop an understanding of industry standard design processes and construction means and methods.
Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service.
Assist with the development of design standards.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
