Schedule: The PRN requirement is 4 shifts per month including a weekend. Hours are 630-5pm or 12pm-1030pm. 1Holiday + rotating call.

Location: 500 Remington Boulevard, Bolingbrook, IL 60440

The role you’ll contribute:

Responsible for performing MRI imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Positions, moves, and assists patients to ensure accurate imaging results. This role performs clerical duties and provides basic patient care within the scope of practice and departmental standards. In addition, this position adheres to MRI safety guidelines, compliance plans, and regulations of local, state, and federal agencies.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety.
  • Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications (e.g., implanted devices, metal, claustrophobia, contrast allergies).
  • Screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards, including completion of required screening documentation.
  • Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
  • Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging.
  • Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
  • Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks. Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Other duties as assigned.   


The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed:

  • High School Grad or Equiv Required
  • Associate Preferred
  • One or more years of Work Experience Preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of MRI scanners and procedures
  • Ability to learn and grow with new technology
  • Customer service skills
  • MRI safety knowledge
  • General computer skills and PACS
  • Basic IV skills
  • General physics and anatomy
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required and
  • ARRT - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT-MR) Required or
  • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) Required and
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Preferred
