Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for mechanical design, product configuration, and manufacturing excellence? Prater Industries is seeking a Product Configuration Specialist to play a critical role in transforming customer requirements into manufacturing-ready products. In this position, you'll collaborate across Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure our Airlock and Rotary Valve products are accurately configured, documented, and released for production.

What You'll Do

  • Configure products based on customer specifications and engineering standards.
  • Create and revise manufacturing and approval drawings using SolidWorks and DraftSight.
  • Develop and maintain BOMs, work orders, routings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Process engineering changes and maintain revision-controlled documentation.
  • Maintain product data and structures within the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Production teams to ensure orders move efficiently from order entry through production.
  • Support continuous improvement and standardization initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in drafting, product configuration, manufacturing documentation, or a related manufacturing role.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software.
  • Understanding of mechanical drawings, BOMs, manufacturing processes, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across departments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in industrial equipment or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience creating and maintaining BOMs and ERP records.
