Job Summary

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe environment compliant with all company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sign in and check seals on trucks entering/exiting the facility.
  • Maintain all logs as necessary.
  • Manage the incoming phone calls.
  • Perform routine security checks of the plant perimeter, parking lot, interior plant, office, production and shipping/receiving areas.
  • Perform weekend rounds on emergency exit doors.
  • Understand and be able to enforce all procedures contained in the security procedures manual.
  • Perform temperature checks on reefers, coolers and freezers on weekends.  Report and remedy any issues.
  • Provide staff notification as needed for other functions within the facility.
  • Be able to react appropriately during emergency situations (Fire/Medical alerts etc.) and perform duties as outlined in the security procedure manual.
  • Monitor the camera system and report any issues to leadership.
  • Transport team members to company medical appointments as needed.
  • Issue radios and maintain proper procedures.
  • Create and issue identification badges.
  • All other duties as assigned



Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related role/field.
  • Schedule:  Must be able to work 12 hour shifts on a rotating schedule.
  • Age: Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships are available.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required with Associates Degree preferred.  
  • Skills:  Basic computer skills including Google Suite products.   Must have basic clerical skills to operate phones, copy machines, and weigh master equipment.  Ability to problem solve.   Must be dependable and be able to work well with others.  Requires good customer service skills.  Must be able to work with limited supervision.  Attention to detail is a must.  Handling of sensitive information with strict confidentiality is a must.  Excellent professional and communication skills to interact with team members and job applicants.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.  Must be able to work in a fast paced environment of continuous change and challenges.
  • Physical:  Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 40 pounds.  Must be able to do security checks in all weather conditions.
  • Certifications:  Must maintain a valid and current driver’s license.
  • Compliance: Must practice good personal hygiene. Candidates must successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen, physical and E-Verify.
