Wolter is seeking a motivated and customer oriented Shop Service Manager in our very busy Bolingbrook, IL branch location. What You'll Do:
- Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.
- Handle all service proposals for shop jobs, to include additional repairs found once a job is started in the shop.
- Ensure jobs are done on time – monitor work in progress.
- Communicate with customers as needed, to include visits as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain adequate skilled shop service tech staff, as well as lead tech and foreman.
- Handle performance evaluations and any disciplinary needs for staff that reports to this position.
- Ensure ongoing technical training is given to the shop service techs, as needed.
- Perform as one of the primary decision-makers for shop service new hires and terminations. Participate in job interviews for shop service positions.
- Ensure communications on all matters of importance to staff are shared with staff.
- Approve shop service invoicing prior to billing.
- Backup shop foreman.
- Enforce safety standards in all areas, including 5S standards.
- Complete initial investigation and paperwork on any work-related injuries or accidents, including vehicular, if involving subordinates, submit to Corporate.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What You Bring To The Table:
- At least 5 years in material handling service environment, or similar industry.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
- Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Planning: ability to think ahead and plan over a one-to-two year time span
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
- Must be able to communicate technically in the products we service.
- Good computer proficiency
- Must hold valid Operators License for powered industrial equipment
