Compensation is $22.00 - $24.00 per hour.

SUMMARY


To manage the training center in order to provide effective training and certification of forklift drivers to be placed at customer work sites and to train and certify non-Proman employees who desire to learn the skill.


Responsibilities


  • Develops effective training methods utilizing various media and equipment provided.
  • Keeps records and prepares reports on activities of center. 
  • Track and maintain miscellaneous inventory for Chicagoland area.
  • Conducts training sessions on and off site.
  • Tests and certifies candidates who have completed training.
  • Instructs and coaches other trainers.
  • Coach branch employees on how to promote training center services.
  • Enforce forklift OSHA regulations.
  • Collect and process certification fees.
  • Expands the business through developing and maintaining communication materials to draw potential trainees and future customers to the Center.
  • Change out forklift equipment as needed.
  • Monitor and schedule maintenance for training facility and equipment.

Requirements

  • This position is a combination of typical office desk work as well as work in the training center. It requires periods of standing while training and some periods of sitting at a desk. 


Skills & Abilities


  • Must demonstrate strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be detail and results oriented. 
  • Excellent communication (listening, speaking, writing) & diplomacy skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook and Internet Explore. Proficient in use of excel and Word tools. Experience using other standard office equipment such as telephone, photocopier and fax machine.
  • Must be results oriented, knowing when to take action and when to seek guidance or permission; organized and adaptable to changing work conditions.
  • Must understand the adult learning process and demonstrate ability to teach others how to use potentially dangerous and expensive equipment in a safe manner.
  • Maintain objectivity during training and evaluation process


Qualifications


  • High school graduate.
  • Must be certified instructor on all equipment.
  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • May require Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an instructor on forklift equipment.
