A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN IPM (Integrated Pest Management) TECHNICIAN:

As an IPM Technician, you will be responsible for safely and accurately mixing, loading, and applying pesticides and fertilizers. Requires operating according to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. You will apply liquid and granular pesticide and fertilizer products under the direction of the IPM Specialist. Applications will be made using boom sprayers, spot sprayers, and granular spreaders. You will also be responsible for hand-pulling weeds, removing exotic plant species, and maintaining the IPM facility and all associated equipment in a clean and organized manner.

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Requires lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds.
• Pesticide License is preferred, but not required.
• Requires a flexible work schedule. Will work weekends and holidays. May be required to work odd hours under emergency situations.
• The nature of this position is physical, and requires long periods of time walking, standing, or stooping. This position works in an outside environment and all associated weather conditions.
• Must be able to follow oral and written directions/instructions.
• Must be in compliance with and support our Drug Free Workplace Policy.
