Job Purpose:
- Perform building and grounds maintenance and construction.
Essential Functions:
- Perform building and grounds maintenance and construction including painting, wall repairs, door repairs, minor concrete installation and repairs, and any other jobs pertaining to building and grounds maintenance
- May assist Maintenance Technicians during machine and equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and installations
- May participate in TPM initiativesÂ
- Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person; follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training; report any injury, accident, or unsafe condition immediately to supervisor
- Support and comply with all quality management systems and continuous improvement programs
- Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures
- Perform other job-related duties as assignedÂ
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies):
- High School diploma or equivalent and formal training/schooling in building trades (verifiable on-the-job training or trade union school/job corps)
- 2+ years of building trades/maintenance experienceÂ
- 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing experience preferred
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to use hand power tools, work from a ladder and scissor lift, etc.
- Ability to read, speak, and write English to assimilate, retain, and apply training and knowledge of job functions
- Ability to recognize and communicate problems and recommend solutions
- Ability to effectively communicate with multi-level personnel as well as vendors and contractors
- Ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to think quickly and handle frequent change
- Self-motivated, goal oriented, quality driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
