Job Purpose/Objective

  • To implement the overall strategy of how project work process is to be broken down for control and how the control is to be managed and ensuring processes, framework and tools are in place to provide and manage project plans and schedules required to execute PD Capex projects maximizing efficiency of project strategy with respect to cost, time, risk and opportunity management.
  • To take responsibility for the implementation, maintenance, and delivery of the planning activities for the portfolio of projects and implement project planning and scheduling services to envision the shape and flow of project and portfolio activities from disparate sources into an integrated and optimized schedule for individual projects and portfolio of projects.
  • To implement and provide effective communication and reporting systems for project management and stakeholders’ engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Implement processes and procedures for monitoring and controlling the delivery of project and portfolio activities through tracking trends on schedule over-under runs and using such trending information to identify timely proactive and corrective actions to maintain project schedule and budget

2. To deliver and maintain standard, consistent and realistic project plans and control structures reflecting the assessed risk parameters for major and complex projects. Develop the list of plans required to execute the projects and their hierarchy relationship and drive, manage and ensure completeness of the development of the activities, logic, resources and progress for the integrated project schedule, leading to the creation of the baseline and its subsequent maintenance. Instigate, develop and police the planning and progress monitoring procedures to ensure that each element of the project performs the processes timely and consistently

3. To take ownership of the overall schedule, monthly progress updates, forecast, critical path and trend analyses. Develop status reporting framework and implement throughout the planning hierarchy. Provide regular and comprehensive schedule status reports to Project Management. Review and report all facets of projects including detailed reporting and integrated charts for weekly and monthly reporting to management.

4. Review scope change requests for the impact on schedules and the critical path of the project. Prepare reconciliation between earlier schedules and the current schedule. Consolidate the impact of approved changes and any deviations from the key project targets and milestones, including productivity monitoring and ā€œWhat if scenariosā€ to aid project management decision-making. Build Project database using appropriate tools such as primavera, including coding structures, templates etc.

5. Assess progress and performance of and develop strategies to accelerate delivery.

6. Perform Risk Analysis on project plans and schedules and ensure application of mitigation

7. Review and build forensic schedules and contractor impact reports for claims and variations

8. Provide input data for and conduct bench-marking activities. Deliver close-out data to enable knowledge retention (lessons learned, project data compilation) at completion of work and monitor and ensure timely project close out.

Requirements

Education

Experience

Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  12 -15years post-graduation experience with minimum of 8 years in a Principal/Senior Planning and Scheduling role for portfolio of pipeline projects and good knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry.

  • Supporting and leading in internal and external Audits and Managing Project external bench-marking
