The Inn at Crestwood is looking for a full-time, Food & Beverage Director to oversee hotel restaurant operations.


The Job

 A typical day for the Food & Beverage Director includes overseeing the restaurant, managing staff, and ensuring high service quality and guest satisfaction.


Job Duties Include:

  • Prepare and serve beverages
  • Collaborate with the Director of Bar Operations
  • Responsible for creating and coordinating food and beverage experiences and events.
  • Taking inventory of all non-alcoholic beverages. 
  • Maintain cleanliness of bar area
  • Respond to guest requests
  • Verify that guests are of legal drinking age when serving alcoholic beverages

The Inn at Crestwood is a 14 room boutique hotel located just 3.9 miles from downtown Blowing Rock. Originally built in 1949, the Inn at Crestwood also caters to specialized events such as weddings, family reunions, and holiday parties. The Inn at Crestwood allows for the perfect mountain getaway while still being close to Blowing Rock, Boone, and Banner Elk.

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • Three (3) plus years of bar and restaurant management experience with an expense budget of $1M required.
  • Three (3) plus years of managing a staff of 15 or more associates in a bar/restaurant business.
  • Food Manager Certification: ServSafe, NRFSP, or equivalent required. 
  • TIPS Certified, or ServSafe Alcohol Certification, or equivalent required. 
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques and safety. 
  • Attention to detail.
  • The drive and motivation to exceed expectations.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent social and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. 


Work Environment

This job operates in an indoor/outdoor, bar/restaurant/kitchen environment within a hotel. This job continuously uses standard food service and cleaning equipment and chemicals. This job is occasionally exposed to fumes, gases, odors, dust, and biohazards. 


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, supplies or equipment; reach with hands and arms overhead and below the knees including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping; climb stairs; communicate or listen. The employee must frequently lift, carry, push, pull or place cleaning food products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
