Job DetailsJob Location: Boone, IA 50036Position Type: Full TimeThe Lab Technician I is responsible for executing the Quality Control programs for AgCertain on a daily basis to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, and maintaining analytical throughput to match the production rate, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company. Responsibilities & Duties: Operate safely and appropriately in all AgCertain situations and environments Ability to demonstrate a basic and continually increasing understanding of the laboratory environment and quality control practices Participate in all competency testing programs including interdepartmental and customer-based equivalency testing Collect samples from the production area and perform all relevant analytical tests according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Perform accurate testing of samples to create final product Certificate of Analyses (CoAs) for approval by others as defined by SOPs in a timely manner Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility Communicate directly with the production team to ensure effective participation by the process operators on the implementation of QA/QC policies and procedures Handle, organize, and store all chemical substances, fluids, and gases according to safety instructions Communicate with third-party labs to schedule outside testing services Participate in all company trainings Perform all other duties as assigned Qualifications An Associate’s Degree in a relevant scientific or technical field is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred Previous experience in academic, chemical, and/or commercial lab experience preferred Physical abilities to include the ability to lift 50 lbs (23 Kg), able to climb several flights of stairs and not affected by heights Experience with automated laboratory instruments preferred Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate internally and externally with customers Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment is required Act with humility, honesty, integrity, and a commitment to safety Abide by Good Manufacturing Practices in all areas of the facility
