Job DetailsJob Location: Boone, IA 50036The Maintenance Technician plays a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth function of operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks, reactive equipment repairs, routine inspections, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Responsibilities and Duties: Operate safely and appropriately in all AgCertain situations and environments Update maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring regular review and revision, and implement proper training for maintenance personnel Conduct routine inspections of the facilities, identify and resolve issues, and maintain accurate maintenance records and logs Conduct accurate repair and installation activities with timely completion Monitor equipment and spare parts inventory; place orders for replacements as needed Prioritize and process maintenance work orders by addressing equipment repairs, deficiencies, or improvement opportunities Apply Good Manufacturing Practices and understand the maintenance processes with respect to food safety Participate in all company trainings Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications A high school diploma or GED equivalent level certification with proven reading, writing, clearly legible handwriting, computer, inter-personal communication and mathematics skills Physical abilities to include the ability to lift 75 lbs (34 Kg), able to climb several flights of stairs and not affected by heights Experience operating an FDA-regulated processing facility or similar ISO-certified production facility is preferred Prior experience working on pumps, motors, and HVAC systems preferred; prior experience in a biodiesel, ethanol, food processing plant, or manufacturing facility preferred Welder certification preferred OSHA 10hr Certification and NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Certification preferred Ability to respond to off-hour requests, including weekends and/or nights Ability to operate heavy equipment and perform minor repairs Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning and decision-making Excellent communication, organizational, management, and computer skills Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems Act with humility, honesty, integrity, and a commitment to safety Abide by Good Manufacturing Practices in all areas of the facility
