Who are we looking for?

 

Our field office in Questa, NM is seeking a  Lab Technician/Scientist to provide support to our team of senior Chemists and Scientists. This is a great opportunity for you to gain valuable experience and begin developing your science career. 

 

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting simple wet chemistry tests on environmental samples

  • Performing organic solvent extractions on groundwater and soil

  • Assisting in the setup of treatability studies

  • Assisting office staff in related work tasks and local field sampling programs as needed (training provided)

  • Assist in the general maintenance of the laboratory

 

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or related field

  • Experience and aptitude for working in a lab environment through employment or school

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Good written English skills

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

  • Good problem solving, analytical, and arithmetic skills

  • Positive attitude, good interpersonal skills, and proven time management skills

  • Self-starter, flexible, team player, willing & able to work on a wide variety of tasks with minimal supervision
