Job Description:

Actuarial Assistant

Fidelity Investments Life Insurance Company (FILI) is looking for an Actuarial Assistant to help drive our future state of reserve modeling and valuation for our life and annuity products. The Role

As Actuarial Assistant, you support reserve valuation for all products. You use FIS Prophet actuarial software to model financial projections which provide the basis for determining reserves, Risk Based Capital and assessment of reserve adequacy for this business.

  • Perform experience analysis and annual assumption review regarding key valuation assumptions including mortality, lapse, withdrawal, expense and other assumptions

  • Support monthly and quarterly valuation processes

  • Assist in developing analysis and documentation needed to complete annual regulatory filings

  • Promote continuous improvement of the valuation environment, including valuation controls

  • Respond to company auditor and state examiner questions based on periodic audits

  • Key member of a small team who demonstrates initiative as a self-starter

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • At least two years of actuarial experience

  • At least three SOA exams completed

  • Experience with R, Python, Visual Basic, SQL, or other programing languages

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

The base salary range for this position is $80,000-153,000 USD per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
