In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
Federal Work Study student may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.

Support the recording and technical needs of the Project Bands program. This role involves utilizing Pro Tools software, managing studio equipment, and ensuring the quality of student recordings. The assistant will work closely with the team to facilitate smooth studio operations and assist students in achieving professional-grade recordings.MP&E and EPD students preferred, having a minimum of 3 semesters to complete before graduation.
Key Responsibilities:
Recording and Equipment Management:
Utilize Pro Tools software for recording sessions and manage DAW signal flow.
Operate and maintain studio-specific tasks such as microphone setup, recording, monitoring setup, and routing.
Apply various mic-ing techniques to achieve optimal sound quality.
Understand and utilize signal flow principles and patching boards.
Provide technical assistance to students, ensuring proper equipment setup and usage.
Maintain the recording studio by adhering to proper protocols and rules.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with the team to meet recording requirements and quality standards.
Communicate effectively within a team environment to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.
Administrative Duties:
Use Google Suite, Google Drive, and Google Sheets for documentation and scheduling.
Check student scores and parts to ensure they meet requirements and are ready for recording sessions.
Sign up students for recording sessions and manage scheduling.
Multitasking and Maintenance:
Perform multiple tasks efficiently in a studio environment to support recording sessions and studio operations.
