Sous Chef

Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Sous Chef for Tufts Medical Center located in Boston, MA. Tufts Medical Center, part of Tufts Medicine, is an internationally-respected academic medical center.

We are in the process of building out a NEW kitchen/facility, hours of operations Mon-Fri (NO weekends!) Located at the Chinatown T stop, creative chef needed - you will have menu oversight! Tremendous growth within Sodexo available for the right chef.

What You'll Do

• Implement and standardize all culinary systems and procedures for hospital:
• Catering, Retail menus, FMS sheets, Inventory control, HACCP, cleaning schedules, staffing plans, presentation and quality of food, kitchen cleanliness, safety, etc. Sodexo standards will be the benchmark;
• FMS: monitoring, Audits, implementation and standardization for new menus;
• Responsible for Food and Physical Safety 
• Implement innovative and fresh ideas in retail, catering and patient services
• Create interpersonal relationships with clients in hospital.

What You Bring

• Strong culinary background, creativity required with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
• Hgh end catering and dining experience and a passion for culinary arts
• Strong production culinary background, ideally in an up-scale restaurant/retail/catering environment;
• Menu planning experience and a strong understanding of current culinary trends;
• Proven to effectively communicate to multiple audiences and develop strong relationships with customers
• Ability to multitask and proven effectiveness in a high-standards driven environment;
