The Financial Administration Senior Manager, Vice-President (“VP”) oversees production of various Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) filings within the Mutual Funds space including Forms N-PORT, N-MFP, and N-CEN. The VPs are responsible for managing a team of financial administration professionals, working with internal and external clients to design and maintain efficient, effective regulatory reporting. A comprehensive understanding of the SEC requirements for each of the Forms is essential, as well as a thorough understanding of Unity NXT, strongly preferred. The VPs must maintain a thorough understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and SEC rules and regulations relating to Registered Investment Companies. In addition to managing a team of financial administration professionals, the VPs proactively manage client relationships. Responsibilities include ensuring teams provide quality service to clients and respond proactively to internal and external client inquiries; performing all aspects of people management including annual performance management cycle, hiring, feedback, mentoring and training; overseeing the preparation of Forms N-PORT, N-MFP and N-CEN in accordance with GAAP and SEC rules and regulations; demonstrating an advanced understanding of investment types, mutual funds, ETFs, and financial markets and serving as a subject-matter expert resource; reviewing the information disclosed and understanding the requirements of SEC filings including filing deadlines, information sources, and the electronic filing process; providing thought leadership on fund events such as conversions, launches, liquidations, mergers; partnering with Technology on business requirements documentation, testing and roll-out of new automation solutions; encouraging continuous improvement to reduce risk and improve efficiency; managing projects, leading department initiatives, and participating in committees. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related area or equivalent work experience (MBA is a plus), 10+ years mutual fund financial reporting and fund administration experience, prior people management experience, comprehensive understanding of investment company financial reporting requirements, CPA is a plus, experience with FIS InvestOne fund accounting platform and Confluence Unity NXT is recommended, advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
