Responsibilities:
- Design/review fire protection and life safety systems
- Coordinate project with other disciplines
- Participate in design review meetings
- Prepare comprehensive fire protection packages (fire suppression, fire alarm, smoke management and life safety)
- Create specification documentation and perform calculations for fire suppression and alarm systems
- Evaluate building/life safety requirements
- Perform construction administration duties
- Coordinate approval for all stages of project with local authorities
- Perform site evaluations and document existing fire protection systems
- Comply with company and site safety policies

Requirements:
- B.S. Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related degree from ABET accredited program
- Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering preferred
- 8+ years of fire protection engineering experience
- Registered Fire Protection PE
- Proficient in standard engineering techniques/procedures
- Knowledge of the International Code Council (ICC), NFPA 101, NFPA 13, and NFPA 72
- NICET certification in Water-Based System Layout, Fire Alarm Systems, or Special Hazards Systems a plus (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies)
- Working knowledge of building codes, fire codes, NFPA standards, FM Global datasheets, military standards, and refinery/industrial API guidelines
- Experience with Revit, BIM, and Microsoft Office skills
