The position will be primarily on-site with residency commutable to one of our offices required.
This position is responsible for handling a diverse range of assignments in support of the Accounting Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston under general supervision.  This position requires maintaining knowledge of core accounting concepts and in-depth knowledge of financial accounting applications such as Workday and EASy (an in-house application). Â
Responsibilities
•            Primary responsibility for ensuring compliance with the Federal Reserve’s Financial Accounting Manual for designated account balances. Additionally, ensure compliance with relevant financial accounting procedures, discretionary expenditure policies, and Bank specific accounting policies.Â
•            Prepare, analyze and record accounting entries for accruals, asset management transactions, benefits, expenses, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tenant billings, procure to pay (P2P) processes and other functional areas in accordance with the Bank’s financial accounting principles, as applicable
•            Directly interact with stakeholders on matters relating to financial accounting, compliance policies, etc., and troubleshooting issuesÂ
•            Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform daily general ledger balancing to ensure general ledger account information is accurate
•            Perform basic accounting research, as required, and document the accounting treatment.
•            Prepare financial reports and schedules for management, as required.
•            Analyze and reconcile transactions and data from Workday and EASy, as required
•            Compile data and assist in financial reporting activities, including year-end processes and financial statement preparation
•            Work with the Bank’s shared services center (as needed) to ensure invoices and expense reports are properly reviewed and approved.
•            Ensure application of the Federal Reserve Bank’s internal control environment
•            Review financial data to ensure compliance with accounting rules, internal and external policies and procedures
•            Assist with internal, external audits and reviews by the Board of Governors by providing documentation and supporting data
•            Provide assistance and guidance to departments in the P2P cycle and on applications such as EASy, Workday, etc.
•            Participate in Systemwide workgroups, as requested
Knowledge and Experience
•            Bachelor’s degree with an accounting or finance concentration
•            2+ years of accounting work experience

The salary range for this position is $67,500.00 - 84,400.00 - 101,300.00. The Boston Fed believes in salary transparency. The final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
