Bain Capital Credit is a leading global credit specialist with $65 billion in assets under management. We invest across the credit spectrum and in credit-related strategies, including leveraged loans, high-yield bonds, structured products, private middle market loans, bespoke capital solutions, distressed securities and assets, non-performing loans, hard assets, and equities. DESCRIPTION
Bain Capital Credit’s Investor Relations team is seeking an Analyst/Associate to build internal tools and improve workflows across investor relations and fund analytics. The successful candidate will sit within the IR Analyst team and work closely with the broader team. The role combines hands-on software development, data management, LP research, and day-to-day support for IR. The candidate will help build and maintain internal web applications, dashboards, and AI-assisted workflows used for investor coverage, fund reporting, and capital formation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include some or all of the following:
- Build, maintain, and extend full-stack web applications supporting fund coverage, LP intelligence, and pipeline tracking
- Develop AI-assisted workflows for meeting preparation, prospect research, recurring deliverables, and internal strategy work
- Use prompt design, workflow automation, and AI coding tools to improve existing processes and build new ones
- Maintain data quality across the CRM and market intelligence sources that feed internal applications
- Work with internal stakeholders to validate source data, calculations, and data lineage
- Partner with IR analysts on LP research, including allocation analysis, program mapping, and contact identification
- Translate requests from coverage officers and investment teams into tested improvements to internal tools
- Prepare and maintain recurring reporting, including deliverable trackers and data-completeness reports
- Document processes as reusable workflows, templates, and operating guides that colleagues can adopt
- Train colleagues on new tools, gather feedback, and make changes based on how the tools are used
- Assist with marketing materials for current and upcoming strategies
QUALIFICATIONS
- One to three years of experience in asset management, financial services, software development, data analysis, or AI engineering in a demanding environment
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools to build or materially improve a real workflow
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar products is strongly preferred
- Candidates should be prepared to discuss prior work through a GitHub portfolio, work sample, or detailed walkthrough of an AI-assisted workflow they built
- Working proficiency in Python is required; Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and a web application framework is a plus
- Familiarity with Git-based version control, testing, and deployment; experience with Azure DevOps or a similar platform is a plus
- Experience with SQL and a cloud data platform such as Snowflake is a plus
- Familiarity with Salesforce and investor intelligence providers such as Preqin and Dakota is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to build repeatable, documented processes that others can use
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to explain technical work in plain English
- Genuine interest in credit markets and capital formation
EDUCATION
- Four-year college degree with a strong academic record; field of study is flexible, and demonstrated work matters more than a specific major
Compensation:
Expected Annual Base Salary $75,000 - $100,000
Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
