John Hancock’s U.S. insurance growth strategy depends on bringing the full value of John Hancock Vitality to life for our members. This role will help develop, execute and optimize audience-led marketing strategies that deepen member engagement and help support our Customers Digitally Active goals.

Reporting to the Director, Head of Activation and Vitality Marketing, this role will support integrated marketing plans across member marketing, including messaging, content development, execution, performance measurement and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful marketer who can connect strategy to execution, translate complex health and insurance concepts into clear communications and partner across teams to deliver high-quality work that moves the business forward.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support marketing communications that increase John Hancock Vitality awareness, understanding, adoption and engagement among members. 

  • Maintain day-to-day member marketing communications

  • Manage the development of marketing materials including emails, landing pages, one-pagers, presentation content, talking points, FAQs, toolkits and other campaign assets. 

  • Use data, insights and performance reporting to evaluate campaign effectiveness, identify optimization opportunities and connect marketing activity to member engagement metrics and business outcomes. 

  • Execute on launch strategies for new or evolving Vitality features, partner benefits, and member experiences. 

  • Maintain a portfolio of marketing materials to ensure consistent branding, audience-alignment and compliance with legal, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Proactively manage campaign timelines, stakeholder reviews, approvals and day-to-day project execution with a strong focus on quality and accountability. 

  • Bring curiosity, creativity, agility, and a test-and-learn mindset to improve how John Hancock communicates the value of Vitality to our members.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 to 3 years of marketing experience, ideally in life insurance, financial services, health, wellness, loyalty, customer engagement or a related industry. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field is an asset 

  • Experience developing and executing campaigns for customer marketing, lifecycle marketing, and/or retention marketing.

  • Strong writing and messaging skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and tailor communications by audience. 

  • Experience using marketing automation and communications platforms, such as Marketo, to build communications, execute email sends, and optimize email campaigns. 

  • Comfort working with data and analytics partners to measure campaign performance, identify insights and recommend improvements. 

  • Strong communication management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, approvals, priorities and details across multiple initiatives. 

  • Naturally curious, creative and proactive, with an eagerness to test, learn and optimize. 

  • Quick thinker and decisive problem solver who remains composed when priorities shift or challenges arise. 

  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability and follow-through.

Salary range is expected to be between

$73,350.00 USD - $122,250.00 USD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
